Faith vs Doubt

Faith is believing in something enough to take that first step towards it.

If you believe in that thing enough, that thought alone if nurtured the right way should grow within you and eventually give you the power to move towards your goal. Once you start to move in the right direction the confidence you are building will give you the power to take the next step. It takes faith to go against the world and most importantly your own doubtful thoughts.

Doubt is that feeling of being uncertain that we all get sometimes. The feeling of uncertainty is the number 1 reason why dreams and goals fall short of their marks. The sad part is that the feeling of uncertainty often starts within us and is projected out onto our life’s. Unfortunately we can’t hide from these things. The good news is since we know where this feeling originates we know where we have to begin. Although being uncertain of yourself can be crippling at times it is still a very natural feeling that is apart of everyone’s life and is necessary for us to grow.

Being uncertain is very closely related to being uncomfortable. In fact the reason why people are uncomfortable in most cases is because they are uncertain about a person, place or a situation. This makes more sense once we dive deeper into what being comfortable and uncomfortable truly mean. Being comfortable comes from the known and being uncomfortable comes from the unknown. So the only way to truly conquer that feeling is to learn more about those things we are uncertain of. For example sometimes we may be uncomfortable of a person, place or new situation because we are not accustomed to how they may work. But once we learn more about that thing we either realize we have nothing to worry about or that we were right to worry. That’s it… there is really nothing more too it. If you are uncomfortable you have to allow yourself to learn and grow.

The feeling of uncertainty alone is not a bad emotion, it actually works closely with a very useful God given tool that we all use to stay out of harms way. This tool is called caution. The way we choose to handle things we are cautious about tend to be why some people see being uncomfortable as a flaw when it is actually a blessing. For example some people may tend to avoid something because they are uncomfortable or uncertain of it. But at the end of the day this will keep them from learning and growing. But on the other hand if we choose to use our caution as a tool we will know the areas we need to work on for us to evolve. This doesn’t mean we should run into a dangerous place to learn more about it, but instead we should use the areas we are uncomfortable of as topics to study. If you’re uncomfortable with public speaking then study this topic. You will grow in that area and as you do your uncertainties will turn to confidence. Being uncomfortable is a sign of growth. It is a sign that you are ready to level up. Being uncomfortable is one of the only ways you can witness yourself changing. Very few people make changes if they are comfortable with their situation. When we are uncomfortable it is our duty to ourself to use this feeling to push us to the next step in our journey.

It is true that some uncertainty comes from the outside world. But I believe that after we learn how to overcome our internal doubts with knowledge the external will be much easier to handle. After all we can only truly control ourselves and how we think and feel. At the end of the day people will always be entitled to have their own opinions... Right or wrong It is up to us to turn the doubt the world forces onto us into fuel to our fire. At the end of the day the only doubts that matter are the ones within ourselves. So instill confidence and not doubt into your lives and remember with faith in yourself anything is possible. Never stop fighting for yours soldiers.

Remember Soldiers always “Fight for yours.”
